A Directorate-General for Consumer Protection, Trade and Services (DGC) warned on Friday of the risk of choking with a baby chair marketed by Decathlon between January 1, 2022 and August 6, 2026.
The Hamax Buddy bike chair is concerned because it has been detected that “the textile label may not be properly fastened. Consequently, there is a risk that a child will be removed from the harness belt, which, in the event of detachment, may pose a risk of asphyxiation.”.
Thus, Decathlon request to customers who remove the textile label from the harness strap so that the risk of asphyxiation is completely eliminated.
“We therefore ask you to cut the label. As soon as the label is removed, the risk of asphyxiation is completely eliminated, so the chair can continue to be used safely”, guarantees the operator.
According to the company, if “your product no longer has this label, it is not affected by this warning and can be used normally”.
References to the chair concerned are: 4091054 / 8591602 EAN code: 70297755203498.
