Sthere are many times that football players and the automotive world are interconnected, but the case of Thibaut Courtois goes much further than a simple personal car. The goalkeeper of Real Madrid has a passion that few know, but that has been heavily invested for some years.
We're talking about TC Racing, an official Formula 4 team that's been growing since its inception. The lyrics of the name even mention the initials of Thibaut Courtois, who inaugurated this adventure in 2023, while playing one of the best football teams in the world (and will even be trained by José Mourinho this season).
But the goal is not simply to form an unformed team, but to create an opportunity for young pilots to be taught the best way and to be able to have the basis to reach Formula 1, as Imanol Zubikarai, responsible for the total management of the team, told the Sports World.
“ His idea is to try to promote young talent that can go up in the career and maybe one day get to Formula One. This year, we entered Eurocup-3, with more powerful cars, so that the drivers can continue to perfect themselves”, started by saying Team Principal.
“ Whenever he can, Thibaut watches races and comes to the facilities where the team is based to know firsthand what the situation is and, of course, his personality is reflected in the structure of the team, the way we operate and the goals we have”, he revealed.
“ A young and new team, like ours in the world of motoring, is not an easy thing. There are teams that have been active for 20 years, with very solid structures and a lot of experience ", confessed before talking about the added difficulties they have at this time.
“ In this case, it may be worth adopting Thibaut's perspective: facing the challenges, however great they are, with even more energy, motivation and effort. Although it may sometimes be difficult to maintain this effort, it is necessary to close your teeth and continue to work,” Imanol Zubikarai said.
