An American tourist died after falling from a height of 300 meters while trying to take a picture at a viewpoint in the Dolomites in Italy. The woman was accompanied by her family.

Ulast Saturday, after falling from a height of 300 meters after stopping to take a picture while taking a walk in the Dolomites in Italy.
Michaelle Alejandra Rubio Leiva, 36 years old, was from Florida and, according to Corriere della Sera, would have deviated from the route of the walk to try to reach a panoramic viewpoint.
The American woman, who was with the family, will have lost her balance and fell from a height of approximately 300 meters.
The newspaper Il Dolomiti mentions that the group of American tourists was walking towards the cable car station that would take them to a famous panoramic restaurant on the top of Sass Pardoi.
After the incident, Michaelle's sister called 911. However, the death of the American tourist was eventually declared on site.
Later, the woman's body and family members were transported by helicopter to Canazei.
Michaelle Alejandra Rubio Leiva graduated from Brigham Young University and had recently started working at a company in Miami. Since 2025, he lived in Rome, where he worked in consulting.
