A new York stock market closed today, with investors little affected by the Federal Reserve (Fed) decision to maintain the reference interest rate, which was expected.

The result of the session indicates that the Nasdaq technological index gained 0.27%, the extended S&P500 progressed 0.28% and the selective Dow Jones Industrial Jones advanced 0.19%.

“ The investors consider that there is no reason to react to what the Fed announced today and that the central bank “acted according to expectations,” said Art Hogan, from B. Riley Wealth Management, to AFP.

No surprise, the Fed maintained the reference interest rate in the range between 3.75% and 4.00%.

According to the final statement and the press conference of the President of the Fed, Kevin Warsh, the central bank will wait to “get more information”.

After considering that inflation is “too high”, Warsh added that he did not want to “qualify (financial conditions) as restrictive.”.

“ Investors have looked down on their anticipating rate rise beyond December: they continue to expect a fall at the next meeting and are less convinced of the continued monetary hardening,” said Ali Hassan of Thornburg Investment Management.

In the bond market, the yield of the 10-year federal debt rose after the press conference, from 4.99% to 5.01%.

30-year-olds, “particularly sensitive to long-term inflation anticipation,” according to Patrick O’Hare of Briefing. with, stabilized at 5.34%.

But Art Hogan stressed that now investors are focused on the quarterly performances of technology conglomerates.

After Wall Street was closed, Microsoft released results above expected, while Alphabet (Google) failed with the numbers it published.

Fed keeps interest rates unchanged

The US Federal Reserve (Fed) decided to maintain interest rates in the interval between 3.75% and 4%, as anticipated by analysts, after a two-day meeting. The decision, announced in a statement, was not unanimous, with two members of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) voting against, preferring an increase of 0.25 percentage points.
