O Palmeiras, trained by the Portuguese Abel Ferreira, today placed himself in advantage in the semi-finals of the Brazilian Cup of football, winning in the reception to Vasco da Gama (1-0), by Pedro Emanuel, in the first hand.
In São Paulo, a goal of Paraguayan Mauritius (24 minutes) gave triumph to the hosts, with Uruguayan Alan Saldivia being expelled with double yellow card in visitors (77), who did not use Luso Nuno Moreira.
Palmeiras, with four achievements, and Vasco da Gama, once a winner and finalist defeated in 2025 against Cruzeiro, decide the elimination on November 8 in Rio de Janeiro, and will define one of the finalists of the 38th edition of the Brazilian Cup, which still has Grêmio and Atlético Mineiro in action.
Pedro Emanuel is looking for the first trophy for Vasco da Gama, to which he arrived in July, while Abel Ferreira won this event in 2020 with Palmeiras, at the service of which he completed six years of connection on Friday and is the record holder of achievements in the bank of the ‘green’ (11).
