Daniel Banjaqui is once again a topic of conversation in England, due to the growing ‘harassment’ that has been being targeted by some of the biggest European football clubs, even though at the age of 18 he has only six games held in the service of the main team of Benfica (with assistance from the middle).
The Gate TEAMtalk writes that the European and world champion of under-17 has interested mainly in His Majesty's Lands, where his evolution has been accompanied by clubs such as Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal, Newcastle, Tottenham and Brighton, in view of an eventual attack.
The side-right also has a market in Germany (where it is associated with Borussia Dortmund and Leipzig), Italy (where it will be on the agenda of Juventus, AS Roma and Internazionale) and Spain (where it will have aroused the interest of Barcelona, Atlético de Madrid and Real Sociedad), although no concrete proposals have reached the Stadium of Light.
The leadership led by Rui Costa believes in the potential of the young promise and intends to continue to evolve under the orders of Marco Silva. Nevertheless, it adds the same publication, it will have already made it clear that it will be willing to open negotiations for amounts between EUR 35 million and EUR 40 million.
Daniel Banjaqui renewed half a year ago
Born in Lisbon, Daniel Banjaqui arrived in Benfica in 2018, from Real Massamá, and passed through the various formation echelons, before José Mourinho gave him the chance to debut by the main team, on December 17, 2025, in the victory achieved over Farense, in the Stadium of São Luís, by 0-2, which was worth access to the final rooms of the Cup of Portugal.
Aware of its potential, the incarnated structure soon opened negotiations with a view to renewing the contract between the two parties, which would be consummated on April 2, that is, just over a week after celebrating the 18th anniversary, opening the door to a longer bond in the light of FIFA regulations.
The Luso-Guinea would commit to the eagles by June 2031, becoming ‘armored’ by a termination clause of EUR 80 million, that is, a value much higher than that which in England is being appointed as the minimum for a possible transfer.
Injury delays affirmation in Benfica
The rumours of the growing foreign interest in Daniel Banjaqui are growing in sight, even though, at this moment, he is in the care of the clinical department of Benfica, due to a muscular injury to the right thigh, contracted when he was at the service of the national selection of sub-21.
The right side no longer plays, moreover, as an eagle to the chest since 16 September, when it fulfilled the 90 minutes of the victory achieved in the trip to Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, on the AC Milan (from Ruben Amorim and Gonçalo Ramos), by 0-2, in meeting to count for the second day of the league phase of the Europa League.
