O the month of October was quite sunny in mainland Portugal, with little rainfall, and so should continue until the end.
According to the page André do Tempo, “there is no forecast of low pressures in Continental Portugal, at least until November 3”, that is, Halloween celebrations, as well as All Saints Day, should count on good weather.
“October should end as it happened, in general, throughout the month: without persistent rain and without the influence of low atmospheric pressures in Continental Portugal,” said the weatherman, adding that “the influence of an anticyclone should keep the weather generally stable in Continental Portugal, at least until November 3, without persistent rain forecast.”.
“ This situation of anticyclonic blockade until the beginning of November can occur in Portugal, given its geographical location and the influence of high subtropical pressures,” he said, noting, however, that “this pattern does not mean that stability will last all month: a change in atmospheric circulation may allow depressions and frontal systems to reach the territory, bringing rain.”.
“ Seasonal models continue to point to a more rainy November than usual, although this trend does not allow anticipating when this change will occur or how precipitation will be distributed throughout the month,” the expert said.
According to Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA)For this Monday, October 26th, little cloudy sky is predicted throughout the continental territory. For the Azores, it is expected that all islands with the exception of Flores and Corvo will be “waterers”. In Madeira it should not rain, but the sky will be “partially cloudy”.
The week will thus be “characterized by temperatures above average, with a few days to have associated conditions of low relative humidity, weak winds and low cloudy skies, more typical of a summer day, alternating with other days when the approach and passage of frontal systems in dissipation should bring temporary drops in temperature and the possibility of weak precipitation in coastal areas, in a scenario more consistent with autumn. The week should be classified as dry”.
Temperatures will vary between 22oC of maximum and 16oC of minimum in the Azores, between 25oC and 19oC in Madeira and between 28oC and 6oC in the Continent.
In Lisbon, thermometers should rise to a maximum of 24oC and fall to 12oC. In Porto they will oscillate between 21oC and 10oC, in Évora between 28oC and 10oC and in Faro between 25oC and 14oC. Évora is the hottest district today. Vila Real will be the coolest, not going beyond the 19oC maximum, with 8oC minimum.
For Tuesday, October 27th, and Wednesday, 28, meteorologists expect an identical scenario, only with a slight drop in maximum temperatures.
Tomorrow, thermometers should not go beyond 25oC and only in the district of Santarém. In turn, day after tomorrow, they can reach 27oC in Évora, at 26oC in Beja and Évora and at 25oC in Lisbon, Setúbal and Faro.
The freshest districts should be, on Tuesday, Bragança and Guarda, with 7oC minimum, and on Wednesday Guarda, Viseu, Vila Real and Bragança, with 9oC.
