Nsomeone likes someone else to have access to our private communications and, in case they have fears that someone will be able to know what they are writing to family, friends or colleagues, they can always take measures that help to feel more protected.
Fortunately, WhatsApp has some features that allow you to have an extra layer of protection and anyone who uses the messaging app has the opportunity to “lock” conversations – which are accessible through biometric recognition (fingerprint or facial recognition).
The tool, which is available for both Android and iOS, also allows you to choose the frequency with which this code is requested. Users can decide if they want the code to be requested whenever the app is closed, after a minute or after 30 minutes.
Below you can learn how to activate this extra layer of security.
How to “lock” WhatsApp conversations:
- Open the WhatsApp app;
- Press the three-point vertical icon in the upper right corner;
- Select Definitions;
- Enter the area of Privacy;
- On the new page, select App lock;
- Enable option Unlock with biometrics;
- Confirm your biometric data by displaying the fingerprint or facial recognition;
- You can then choose the periodicity with which you want to be authenticated to access your conversations, with the option of Immediately, At the end of 1 minute or After 30 minutes;
- You will also have the option to choose if you want to see the contents in notifications, which will present the sender and text of the message directly in the notifications of a new message;
