O former wrestler and actor Dave Bautista is in negotiations to play Kratos in the adaptation of “God of War” that is being developed by Prime Video. The news is being advanced not only by deadline site, as well as variety magazine.
Remember that, originally, Ryan Hurst was the name chosen to play on the television series the protagonist of the PlayStation video game saga. However, the actor – who recently participated in Christopher Nolan’s “Odyssey” – was forced to give up the project after he contracted an injury during the filming of “God of War”.
Those responsible for the project were then forced to evaluate other names for Kratos' role, with Bautista currently being one of the most likely names to interpret the protagonist.
It is worth remembering that, in addition to his long career in the wrestling world, Bautista has also cemented a notable career in the cinema world – with participations in films such as “Guardians of the Galaxy”, “Blade Runner 2049”, “Dune” and “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery”.
It has not yet been officially confirmed that Bautista is the name chosen by Prime Video to play Kratos but, given that information originates in two of the most respected publications in the world of cinema and television, it is highly likely that it will be confirmed in the coming days if negotiations are concluded positively.
It is important to remember that this adaptation of “God of War” already has two seasons guaranteed and will adapt the events of the game released in 2018. The narrative consists of a journey by Kratos – accompanied by the son Atreus – to deposit the ashes of the woman who died.
