A broadcast on Sunday, October 25, of the new season of “The Voice Portugal” was marked by moments of strong emotions where the protagonists were not only participants in the RTP1 talent contest.

David Career, who debuts as mentor alongside his brother Mickael, this season of "The Voice", was surprised by the family and ended in tears.

The singer completed 35 years of life on 30 July this year, when he was on recordings for the RTP1 program. The production of the format decided, however, that the day could not go blank and prepared a surprise in the middle of the recordings.

During the blind trials, while waiting to hear another contestant, David Carreira heard his partner, Carolina Carvalho, on the microphone. Upon becoming the mentor chair of "The Voice", the musician realized that his closest family was on stage.

Carolina Carvalho joined the couple's son, Lucas, three years old, and David Career's parents, Tony Career and former wife Fernanda Antunes.

“I didn’t expect to be surprised today at “The Voice” because Carolina I thought I was recording a series in Alentejo, my father most likely was in concert too,” he reacted.

“ I don’t even know what to say, I don’t even know what to say,” David Carreira said, without being able to hide the emotion.

“ Thanks for the surprise. I'm heartbroken. For me the most important thing in my life is the family, so thank you for this surprise, even ", reinforced.

Then Catherine Furtado gave a voice to Fernanda Antunes and Tony Career so that they could talk about the son who on that day completed another lap in the sun.

“I came a long way to be with him, but I would do any distance to be with any of them and it's a very proud reason for me to be here with him today - because I love him deeply. We are very family, that is what it is, we are like this”, highlighted Tony Career.

“ I don't need to say anything, he knows. I love my children above all else, I'm in love with my children and my grandchildren. I really like my children,” Fernanda Antunes confessed, with tears in her eyes.

Mickael Carreira was equally moved, particularly by watching her parents together on television, something she made a point of mentioning, it is rare to happen.

“Getting these people together, especially my dad and mom on TV is a very difficult scene to get. I don't think it ever happened, at least as far as I can remember, besides our sister's association. Of course we are very, very family, we have always been and with what happened a few years ago [the death of Sara Carreira], unfortunately, I think we have become even more. And I also want to thank you for this surprise, thank you”, heard in the speech of the musician, who left his brother with tears in his eyes.

David Career could not even contain tears with his brother's words. In the face of the moment of enormous excitement, he again thanked The Voice team for the surprise and family for the show of love.
