Nthe welcome session of the 19th edition, after a first moment on Tuesday, in Porto, the mayor of Matosinhos, Luisa Salgueiro, noticed the weight of the AI and “the mastery of the algorithm” in daily discussions about the future.
“ It is true that every day we are surprised by what the AI gives us, and we look for new solutions, new answers, but the relationship with the neighbor and empathy is irreplaceable ", noted the mayor.
Willow looked at the “unforeseeable international leaders” that create a future that can only be anticipated “in a framework of great unpredictability”, which is why an event such as this helps to prepare, by passing the Exponor “of the best at international, national and local level”.
The mayor elected by the Socialist Party also criticized the lack of government members at the event, “as opposed to what happens in Lisbon”, in a welcoming session for which the presence of the Secretary of State for Tourism, Trade and Services, Pedro Machado, was marked.
The president of the Business Association of Portugal (AEP), Luís Miguel Ribeiro, also noted a present reality for the economy in which “it is not enough to adapt, it is not enough to react, but it is necessary to anticipate, to build”.
“ Economic history shows us that the periods of greatest transformation are also those that offer the greatest opportunities. Every moment of uncertainty has made room for those who have the courage to innovate. We are again facing one of these moments”, he added.
The founder of QSP, Rui Ribeiro, said that the event brings together people in the same space who are “all trying to answer the same question: what to do when the world changes faster than our plans?”.
“A few years ago, we were talking about digital transformation. Today we are talking about AI, for years effectiveness, today efficiency. Today we discuss resilience when a few years ago we sought predictability, learning to lead in the context of uncertainty ", said.
