Ajavier Milei's executive decisions, released today, happen a month after Donald Trump's expansion of his list of Latin American groups designated as terrorists to 21.
The five groups are the Mexican cartels of Sinaloa and the New Michoacan Family, the Los Tiguerones gang of Ecuador, and the Colombians of the Colombian National Liberation Army and Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia – the Popular Army (FARC-EP), a dissent of the FARC, which rejected the peace agreement signed a decade ago.
The Argentinean announcement is made two weeks after the Milei government announced that the US established a regional delegation of the drug-fighting agency in Argentina.
The South American state had already designated as terrorist organizations the Venezuelan Sun cartel, the Mexican New Generation and three branches of the Muslim Brotherhood.
