O italian tennis player Jannik Sinner, away from Wimbledon due to a right knee injury, will return to the courts before 2027, to play the 'Six Kings Slam', was revealed today.

In early October, the world number one had announced that it would not compete again this year, to undergo a treatment to the right knee, but changed its mind and will compete in the Saudi exhibition tournament scheduled between December 27 and 30.

Sinner hasn't played since he won his fifth Grand Slam title in the second consecutive year at Wimbledon.

Although it has not competed since July 12, 25-year-old Italian continues to lead the ATP ranking – it will be dethroned by German Alexander Zverev – as a result of his extraordinary first half of 2026, in which he became the first tennis player to consecutively win the first five Masters 1,000 of the season and the second to win all nine tournaments of this category.

After disillusioning at Roland Garros, he revalidated the title at Wimbledon before failing the remaining tournaments of the ATP circuit season, namely the United States Open, the last Grand Slam of the season, due to the injury.

The Six Kings Slam, which will gather six of the main male tennis figures, was initially scheduled between October 21 and 24, but was postponed two months due to the attacks launched in recent weeks by the Huthis against energy and civilian facilities in Saudi Arabia, such as King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.

In its first two editions, the Saudi exhibition tournament, which does not assign points to the world ranking, was won precisely by Sinner, who defeated Spanish Carlos Alcaraz in the finals of 2024 and 2025.
