Vanessa Martins attended an event provided by Wells, where she shared her “real testimony as an influencer who speaks in the first person about the disease”, endometriosis.
When posting on her Instagram page about this event, the public figure recalled: “When about eight years ago I spoke for the first of my illness here, my sharing generated a wave of questions about menstrual pain, many women discovered its diagnosis.”
“ These days I've made up with the disease and I can see life differently. I'm a positive person and I always believe there are worse things. I'm fine, I have the strength and energy to face the challenges of life. It is possible to be our best version even with endometriosis”, he added in the caption of a video where he highlights his testimony.
“ If there's a doctor who tells you that menstrual pain is normal, never set foot in that doctor again. I think it's looking. If we're not satisfied with our doctor, we have to look. Find another one. We're millions of people. There is one that will fit”, alerts at the beginning of the video that showed the followers.
“ Let me say that the pains of endometriosis do not appear only during menstruation, they appear at any time of the cycle”, stressed.
In recalling the moment he was diagnosed, he reported: “In an examination, he told me that there was nothing in the intestines and that it had to be attended by an endometriosis specialist. At the time I asked what endometriosis was.”
“ I did the surgery, I am medicated, I am accompanied”, he added, telling after “last year he tried to get pregnant again.” “I couldn’t and got an endometriosis focus on the navel right now.”
“ A lot of people ask me what I eat or what I do to control the disease. It is a lifestyle that I acquire for myself, not for the disease, but it is not something that I do for the endometriosis, I do for myself ", highlighted.
He also withdrew from his marriage to Marco Costa, from whom he separated in 2020. “ In my old relationship, the desire to have children was public, and in fact, I could not have children. I didn't have that answer for people. He was treating me. He was trying to figure out why he couldn't have kids. I may not be able to get pregnant, but I'm gonna have kids. One does not give up having children, one gives up suffering. Because if I know I have to go back to doing exactly what I've done, I don't want to do it. Because it hurts, because it's tiring, it's time-consuming, it's an unknown," she said.
“ We might end up making up with that and finding other solutions. Because it is really very costly [both physical and financial]. Shakes a relationship, shakes our personal life. Don't get convicted for having a disease forever. It is to think: this is what we have, we will work over this and be our best version with endometriosis, which is possible ", completed.
