The prototype of the new Tesla was recently spotted testing in Germany, indicating that the arrival on the European market is near. It is Model Y L, with a greater distance between axes than Model Y currently marketed.

Sin completely new models a few years ago, Tesla bets on diversifying its current range. After launching more accessible versions of Model 3 and Model Y last year, now seems to be preparing for Europe the widest variant of Model Y.
Model Y L is a familiar SUV, already available in other markets – China and the United States of America. Recently, a prototype was seen testing in Germany, with images broadcast by Germanic website Car Wow. Also an account on X (old Twitter) accompanying the manufacturer published a video.
If you even come to Europe – speculating that this could happen in October or November – you will somehow occupy the place left by the discontinued Model X. Originally launched in June last year in China, the vehicle is 4,976 mm long (more 18 centimeters than Model Y) and 3,040 mm wheelbase.
These dimensions allow you to come series with a spacious six-seater configuration which make it ideal for families (three rows with two seats each). Depending on how the seats are positioned, the trunk can reach 2,539 liters (if both rear rows are hit). And a front compartment under the 116-litre hood is added.
This model is full traction, with autonomy around 523 km. But the Car Wow points to the possibility of a larger battery being included for autonomy to reach about 681 km.
In just 15 minutes, it may be possible to recover power to 264 km/h. The rims of the unit that was seen rehearsing had new 20-inch Uberhelix rims.
In terms of design, although the prototype is cloaked, if the arrival to Europe is confirmed it is not expected that there will be changes vis-à-vis the other Model Y – because this did not happen in the markets where the Y L variant is already for sale.
The same applies to indoor equipment, waiting for heated and ventilated front seats, single seats in the second row with electronic armrests, front touch screen of 16 inches and another eight inches for the second row, 18 column sound system and a subwoofer and driving assists with preparation for the supervised autonomous system (FSD). The two-way vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality should also be part of it.
