Uthe heat wave arrives in Portugal this Wednesday, July 1. If on cold days you choose to dress in layers and with warmer pieces, what are the best choices for more extreme days? There are ways to stay fresh. Know everything.
The Guardian has spoken to some experts to see what are the best choices to wear on hotter days. “Everyone has a hard time dressing when it's hot” starts by saying designer Sophie Strauss.
Natural fibres: The Best Choice
Saetbyul Park, an assistant teacher of clothing design, told that linen pieces are one of the best options for this time. “It's one of the freshest fabrics for the summer. Cotton is also recommended, as are other natural fibers.”
It explains that it is a breathable tissue that helps absorb moisture. In the case of cotton “is absorbent, breathable, easy to take care of and durable”, but may have some disadvantages. “You can absorb moisture and get heavy if you sweat too much,” says Saetbyul Park.

Leave the synthetics aside
The bet on natural fibers is the best choice, but synthetics are to avoid. They end up being less comfortable when it's too hot. This can affect the body's ability to regulate temperature. On the other hand, polyester suggestions end up smelling fast.
If you sweat too much, the ideal is to change clothes then, as happens when you get wet in the rain. Dermatologist Doris Day reveals that it may cause some problems to your skin, such as acne outbreaks.
The best colors
Regarding colors, there are some tricks to feel fresh. To disguise the sweat, gray is the worst option. “Darker colors that have no gray base, such as navy blue or dark green, best disguise sweat because they don’t look so different when wet,” says Sophie Strauss.
However, there are disadvantages as these colors can absorb more heat than light colors, although they protect more from the sun, for example.
How to remove sweat spots without leaving marks
sweaty. Fortunately, they are easier to remove stains than many think. Lori Williamson, an expert in cleaning and laundry, quoted on Martha Stewart’s website, recommends using sodium bicarbonate.
It's simple. Start by mixing sodium bicarbonate and water to create a paste. Then spread the folder over the stained area and let it act for 20 minutes.
Later, rinse the area with cold water to remove the paste and then use a soft detergent to wash the piece as usual.
