Perez Hilton hospitalized after self-mutilating live at TikTok

O content creator and American businessman known as Perez Hilton was hospitalized this Tuesday, August 4, after Miami-Dade County Sheriff's Office police were sent to his home after he broadcast a video live on TikTok social network where he appears self-mutilating himself. 

After the end of the video, very strong images began to circulate through social networks that show him covered in blood.  

The agents were sent to the scene after receiving several calls from viewers concerned about what they had just seen live, a police spokesman referred to People magazine. When they got to the scene, they realized Perez Hilton was alone.

“ In many occurrences involving a person who goes through a mental health crisis or who is actively self-mutilating, the agents prioritize the progressive reduction of the moment of tension, creating time, distance and communication opportunities ", said the authorities.

“ Unless there is an immediate threat to third parties, slowing down the situation and using crisis intervention techniques may reduce the likelihood of a ‘police suicide’ confrontation and minimise the risk of injury to the individual, the police and the public’, the statement further explains.

In collaboration with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, police officers helped transport Hilton to a nearby hospital to receive medical attention. The Crisis Response Unit and mental health professionals were also on site.

The Minute News chose not to put the video in question because of the shocking nature in the images.

Remember that the blogger was hospitalized in Las Vegas with a severe septicemia in March this year. The following month, he himself reported that he had been admitted again due to a “deep venous thrombosis in the right leg”. After performing a procedure to remove a blood clot and spend weeks bedridden, Perez shared a video where he was already standing.
