Claudio Ramos, 52 years old, decided on the last day of June to express himself about the LGBTI+ Pride – a global movement that advocates equal rights, visibility and acceptance of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and intersexual people and that was marked throughout the month of June.
“ Today on the radio, I was asked about my path as a homosexual, my experience. It wasn't an easy road. It was even very difficult because getting here in 2000 is not being in 2026 – and good – these brands stay for life”, he started by referring to the presentation in a share made in his official Instagram account.
“ Then, among other things, I was asked if it still makes sense to celebrate Pride. Of course, it makes sense to mark and celebrate so that people don't keep marking them like cattle. Tick how to mark freedom. Likewise because it belongs to everyone”, he continued.
In his words, the TVI presenter gathered a video through which he deepens the theme and regrets that “still today” there are “64 countries where being gay is a crime”, there are still “kids to be thrown out at age 14”, as well as “insults, looks and jokes” addressed to homosexuals.
“ For a long time the word gay was stuck to the word shame. For those who do not know or do not remember, loving someone of the same kind was a crime, a disease, a sin ", he recalled.
Claudius Ramos also wanted to make clear the reasons why in 2026 “it is still important to look at history and realize that Pride has a lot of reason to be and it is not a thing just because it is”.
“ I'm one of those who thinks the celebration is more than a flag. Don't rob us of the focus of what's important. Celebrate, be proud and respect”, finished.
