Nthe beach, the sunscreen is one of the most effective ways to protect against sun damage. However, you may be making some mistakes when applying the cream. The worst are the risks and consequences that can come from it. Know what's at stake.
The United Kingdom National Health Service (NHS) website revealed some of the mistakes you are making on the beach when it comes to protecting yourself from the sun and using the protector. You may think it's nothing serious, but it's not like that.
Errors using protector
They turn out to be common mistakes that leave the skin unprotected. Know everything.
1- Put at the wrong time
They explain that it should be placed at least twice before going to the beach. Which means 30 minutes before and right before you leave. “When applying twice, you have less chance of leaving some area unprotected and more ways to obtain a sufficiently thick layer.”

2- Do not reapply after going to sea
It is something that must be done, whether after a bath at sea, in the river or even in the pool. “Much of the sunscreen will have been removed by water, even if it is water resistant.”
3- Do not reapply frequently
They reveal that you should re-apply sunscreen every two hours, even if you do not end up in the water. It should be dry to apply so that you can stay in contact with the skin longer.
4- Use an out-of-time protector
It may be difficult to understand if a protector has passed its validity, but if it opened last year it is likely to lose some of its properties. Look for the symbol and realize how long you've been opening it.
5- Trust only the protector to protect yourself
Spending some time in the shade, wearing a hat and avoiding the hours of greater heat are other ways to protect yourself during the summer as well as using sunscreen. You should also pay attention to your ears, neck and eyes.
Signs that it's time to buy a new sunscreen
You don't know if the sunscreen is still valid? Know that the majority has a three-year deadline, explains the United States Food and Drug Administration, quoted in Huffpost, aggregator of blogs. But if you're not sure when you bought it, there are other factors to consider.
For example, they are warning signs “an unpleasant smell (which may be a sign of bacterial contamination), agglomeration, separation or “significant pilling when applied to the skin,” said Shasa Hu – Associate Professor of Miller Medical School, University of Miami, United States – to Huffpost.
So if you find any of these changes, it's time to dump the protector. To ensure that you do not make this mistake, in the future, experts recommend that you write the month and year of purchase on the packaging with permanent marker, so it does not depend on your memory.
