Depos of this “explosive” viral pre-training, nutrition experts talk about a fruit that promises to be the ideal snack to eat before exercising. Also, this can also be the perfect ingredient (in place of sugar) for cakes and pancakes.

You know what it is? EatingWell spoke to four nutritionists specializing in sports food and, be amazed, they all chose the same pre-training: Dates.

To explain the preference of this pre-training, experts described “essential features” as:

  • A good source of rapid absorption carbohydrates (i.e. digestion is done quickly and therefore does not hinder training performance);
  • Helps delay fatigue during exercise;
  • Contains potassium and magnesium (important for better muscle function);
  • Easy to transport and digest.

Despite the ease of consumption and consequent digestion, in order not to neglect the quality of training or their health, these experts emphasize that the ideal is to consume the dates from 30 to 60 minutes before training.

You feel this pre-training isn't enough?

Verywell Health experts ensure that each date provides, on average, about 10 to 18 grams of carbohydrates, making it a quick source of energy before exercising. However, for those who feel the need to eat something more complete before training, these nutritionists suggest combine them with some peanut butter or other protein-rich foodsthat's if we don't have time for practice.

The longer you miss training, the more complete the meal is recommended.

Other examples of quick absorption snacks (ideal for pre-training) for when you have little time before going to training:

  • Bananas (since they are rich in carbohydrates, potassium and are easy to digest)
  • Toast with honey;
  • The famous honey and salt trick;
  • Bread or rice biscuits with honey or jams.

Look out! This fruit “quickly raises blood sugar”

Despite being a natural sugar, doctors leave the alert: This fruit “quickly raises blood sugar levels”. Find out what fruit you're talking about here and how you can consume it in a healthy way.
