Oautumn products such as chestnuts and mushrooms are featured in the Gastronomic Show that will take place in Vila Pouca de Aguiar, between October 31 and November 1, to attract visitors and promote the business.
The mayor, Ana Rita Dias, said today that the gastronomic show wants to boost the local economy, value endogenous products and attract visitors, also taking advantage of a time when many return to the county for the Day of the Dead.
The Gastronomy Show of Vila Pouca de Aguiar has nine adhering restaurants that will make dishes inspired by the “fall soaps”, such as chestnuts, mushrooms, to which other mountain flavors, such as the goat, are still added.
“ We have our products of excellence and we really want to continue to invest in these products, continue to show what is best in the region and of course also boost the local economy, particularly in restaurants, in hotels and the investment that is made is precisely to value what we have here”, said the mayor of the district of Vila Real.
The initiative aims to help in the county business and attract visitors at this lowest time for tourism.
The Gastronomy Show includes an Autumn Product Fair, which takes place in the municipal market, and where, on the first day, a cooking ‘workshop’ will be held with chef Marco Gomes and also includes a popular magust with concertinas and musical animation.
In the municipal market it will also be possible to purchase the products characteristic of this time of year, harvested by local producers.
