Zeekr 9X is the new luxury Chinese SUV in Europe. It's almost 900 hp

Hit's one new luxury Chinese SUV in Europe. It's the Zeekr 9X, officially presented to the region this Wednesday (July 29), which comes to position itself at the top of the range of the brand. It was designed in Sweden, despite the Chinese origins of the Geely group brand.

Almost 900 hp of power

It is a kind of hybrid plugin – an electric with autonomy extender (EREV). There two electric motors (one per axle), supplemented by a turbocharged engine 2.0 litres on petrol which feeds the battery in some kind of generator. With 897 hp power and 935 Nm binary, the Zeekr 9X has integral traction and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds. The maximum speed is 240 km/h.

Sit on a 900 volt architecture, the new Zeekr 9X has a 55.1 kWh battery that can be recharged from 10 to 80 percent in nine minutes and half and provides 179 km of autonomy 100 percent electric. As a whole, the hybrid system allows walking up to 737 km.

The combined consumptions announced are 8.9 litres of fuel and 28.5 litres of fuel. kWh of electric energy per 100 kilometres covered, with carbon dioxide emissions set at 77 grams per kilometre.

The driver may choose between giving priority to electric, hybrid or combustion locomotion. Exists three electric driving modes (More contained Eco, Balanced Comfort and more dynamic Sport), with adjustments to chassis, steering and binary delivery. Besides, seven land modes are proposed, which make the Zeekr 9X adapted for different terrains and conditions: Weed, Light Snow, Intense Snow, Lama, Sand, Stones, Mountain.

In terms of advanced driving assistance systems, these are based on sensors and cameras, including a roof-mounted LiDAR. The Zeekr 9X proposes front collision warning with automatic emergency braking, warning and track maintenance assistance, automated track change assistance, adaptive cruise control, motorway navigation assistance and intelligent auto parking.

As you enter, the doors close themselves. They continue on board up to six persons (driver included) in three rows with two seats each. The front seats are electrically adjustable, heated and ventilated, with memory and massage functions. Those in the second row are adjustable electrically, have memory function and leg supports with electric drive.

There's one 13 inch digital instrument panel, 47 inch head-up display with increased reality and, in the center, a large 16 inch double touch screen for infoentertainment, while no physical controls were forgotten – including for quick access to on-screen functions. For the back passengers, there is another 17-inch screen which slides in the wide panoramic roof between the second and third rows and can also be folded. Ambient lighting allows you to choose between 16.8 million colors.

There are no shortage of storage areas in the passenger compartment, such as a space for cooling or heating beverages with more than eight litres capacity. Wood finishes are found on the board, the space abounds and the steering wheel is multifunction. At the center, there is a rotating control of the volume of the multimedia in crystal. And even the covers of some of the 32 speakers deserved a touch of luxury – speakers that integrate a Naim Premium Audiophile Sound audio system.

The interiors offer two chromatic environments: blue Moonglade Blue combined with brown Caramel Brown; or black Charcoal Black.

The trunk takes 677 liters without the third row of seats and 2,148 liters with the two rear rows batted, while towing capacity reaches two tonnes.

Serially, the occupants of Zeek 9X can enjoy smartphone connection via Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, integrated online navigation, voice assistant, four USB-C sockets (two in front and two in back) to load devices, facial recognition, digital key or remote updates, Zeekr app, among other features.

External design

As we look at the car, we find that it has an imposing and elegant grid, with a design that refers to the most traditional luxury cars flanked by the Matrix LED headlights. One line, the Fly Bridge Line, runs the whole car sideways. The hood is long and the roof line is inspired by the yachts.

Behind, simplicity is highlighted, with a luminous signature consisting of two parallel lines to the whole width visually joined by vertical lighthouses. The gate of the trunk is divided, opening into two – which creates a kind of small picnic table on the part that opens down.

The Zeekr 9X is a big car: 5.239 millimeters long, 2.029 millimetres wide and 1.819 millimeters high, with 3,169 millimetres between axles and 2,900 kg weight. It offers 22-inch alloy rims in two possible designs: the most exquisite Galaxy and the Monoblock. The outer colors are white Crystal White, grey Lava Grey or black Onyx Black, with the front grill to be chrome or body color.

Double-chamber pneumatic suspension with dual-valve shock absorbers, electrically assisted steering, and brakes with fixed clamps of six plungers ahead are other highlights.
