After all, guilt in Manchester United was not just Amorim’s: “Charlatans”

After all, guilt in Manchester United wasn't just Amorim:

Troy Deeney warns that “there is an army of former players turned into ‘podcasters’ around Manchester United’ committed to finding scapegoats for the club’s crisis, leading to cases such as Ruben Amorim or Bruno Fernandes.

Troy Deeney signs a ‘bombastic’ opinion article in this Saturday edition of the British newspaper The Sun, he has not yet “beated as deep as possible”, following the criticisms publicly made by Bruno Fernandes to Michael Carrick, following the heavy defeat suffered during the visit to Como, for the Champions League, by 4-1.

In the opinion of Watford’s historic player (club that represented, between 2010 and 2019, in 419 official games, with 140 goals and 36 assists in the middle), Red Devils “tress the club in denial, turning their eyes to how bad and deep their problems are”, which led to elements such as Portuguese international being used as scapegoats.

“It’s a sad state for a club that can be ungovernable sometimes, but the solutions seem to be simple when you think about it. Everyone's just too afraid to point them out. There is an army of former players turned into podcasters around Manchester United and almost a man, and they seem afraid to point their finger at what is really needed,” he said.

“Marcus Rashford, Ruben Amorim, Erik ten Hag and now this gang. Everyone has been blamed for the difficulties of Manchester United, rather than those in power. Why? Because we have a bunch of charlatans who walk on their toes trying to be friends with everyone, instead of telling the truth”, he continued.

“ They're too afraid to point out what's really wrong, because the club might stop talking to them for a while. Very few of them will criticize Carrick, because he's their friend, a former teammate, but that's ignoring what's important. True friends will tell you when you are wrong”, he completed.

“ Why is Manchester United rotten?”

However, Troy Deeney did not stick around, and stressed that “the problem is not just Bruno Fernandes pointing his finger at Carrick, after one more shame,” insisting that “those who are at the top have to go to the deepest causes”, if they want to end, once and for all, the sporting crisis that plagues Manchester United.

“ Why is the club rotten? There's no culture to follow, no patterns. Part of this is Carrick's fault. You can't play with Lisandro Martínez after what he came here to say. Because of this, Fernandes feels free to start shooting, as he did in Como. Now, it is open season, and Carrick will fear who will follow”, warned.

“ Will Harry Maguire show up and try his luck? Will Youri Tielemans show up in front of a camera and say this wasn't the case at Aston Villa? You can do reconstruction after reconstruction, but if those in charge do not seek to impose a real culture, it is not worth it ", concluded the now sports commentator, 38 years old.
