O Shakhtar Donetsk, next against Sporting in the League of Football Champions, lost today the isolated leadership of the Ukrainian League by stalling 0-0 at reception to Zorya in Lviv, being reached by Polissya on the 10th day.
Three days after the defeat in the visit to the Italians of Inter Milan (1-0), in the third round of the league phase of the main European club competition, the Ukrainian champions tied for the first time in the championship, in which they came from five victories and had only given in front of the Polissya (2-0).
The Shakhtar went down to second place and accumulates the same 25 points of the Polissya, which triumphed on Friday at reception to the Obolon (3-0) and has now benefited from the tie of the Donetsk team to take the lead, as it has advantage in direct confrontation, first tie-off criterion.
The ‘miners’ will be hosts of Sporting on November 3rd, playing the fourth of eight rounds of the main round of the Champions League, which will be played in London due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
