O weather in Rossio, in Lisbon, was a celebration at 21:30, with horns of cars passing through the square, applause and slogans, after a moment of greater tension between the PSP and the protesters.

The moods again rose in the square Dom Pedro IV, at 20:30, after the PSP fined cars that honked when passing through the zone of the concentration of protestors for the right to housing, called by the camp of Lisbon after the police charge last morning.

About an hour later, the weather in Rossio was already partying, with thousands of people concentrated by the road, appealing to the support of the road drivers.

At the sound of the horns, the protesters responded with applause, slogans such as “April 25 always, fascism never again” or “The united people will never be defeated”.

The reaction of the people who remained in Rossio after the end of the popular assembly organized by the Lisbon camp, which ended around 7:00 p.m., followed a time of escalation of tension between the protesters and the PSP, after the authorities fined cars that were honking when passing through the concentration zone.

One witness told journalists that PSP members began to fine drivers because they considered that “horns during a demonstration were not admissible”.

After the response of the protesters, who went to the fined drivers, the PSP eventually demobilized and the vans of the Intervention Corps that were stationed in Rossio moved to the Restaurant area.

The party atmosphere was momentarily interrupted by the burst of two petards near the Dona Maria II Theatre. Following the episode, some of the protesters concentrated in Rossio Square appealed to the participants on the other side of the road, next to the theater, to move away from that place.

The campaign promoters themselves asked the protesters to demobilize from that area by the road and return to Rossio Square.
