ANDthere are several foods harmful to health that should be consumed in moderation. A cardiologist warned one in particular that “he quietly destroys the heart.” You might think it was saturated fat, there is more to be taken into account when talking about cardiovascular health.

On his Instagram page, but here quoted by Mirror, cardiologist Dmitry Yaranov revealed that sugar can affect the heart more than you think. It has even revealed that it is the main ingredient that quietly destroys your heart.” “As a cardiologist, I see heart disease caused not only by cholesterol” continued.

Sugar. One of the enemies of the heart

He warned to be careful with the sugar and the fact that it is a “additive hidden in drinks, salty, sauces to foods considered healthy that harms heart health and feeds diabetes.”

The doctor also cited a study that meets the considerations he left in the publication. “A study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that people who obtained about 25% of calories from added sugar had more than twice the risk of dying from cardiovascular diseases compared to those who consumed less than 10%.”

“ This feeds inflammation, increases blood pressure, lowers cholesterol and deregulates glucose control, something that can affect the heart and pancreas,” continues Dmitry Yaranov.

Nine ways to reduce sugar consumption in your diet

According to the British National Health Service (NHS) adults and children above 11 should not consume more than seven sugars a day. Which is about 25 to 30 grams of food.

However, nutrition experts believe that most individuals consume about 700 grams of sugar per week (140 spoons), which is more than triple the recommended amount.

Excessive sugar consumption can cause various health problems, including liver disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease.

Moreover, reducing the intake of that substance will help you to consume less calories and as such promote and accelerate weight loss.

But how can I reduce sugar consumption?

1. Choose denser sugars mixed with fiber so that the body takes longer to digest them – this way it will avoid the sugar peaks and the sudden hunger that follows.

2. Eat food in its most natural form – there is less likelihood that it contains processed sugars.

3. Choose natural juices instead of bottled ones – the heat used to eliminate harmful bacteria in the pasteurization process also removes good bacteria.

4. Eat more often – when you are satisfied you do not feel that much need to eat sugar.

5. Incorporating lean proteins and healthy fats into meals – you will feel more satisfied and glucose levels will remain balanced.

6. Take a quality multivitamin supplement, including omega-3 and vitamin D3. Certain nutrients also help control blood control levels, including chromium, vitamin B3 and magnesium.

7. Sleep and rest more – when we are tired we have a greater propensity to eat candy for the ‘false’ energy they provide.

8. Practice physical exercise regularly – this will reduce the desire for sweets.

9. Say no to artificial sweeteners – they will not reduce the will to eat something sweet and are as harmful to health as sugar.

There's a kind of canned food that can help you live longer

Not all canned foods are unhealthy. There is a group that stands out for the high content of fiber, protein and other essential nutrients, which can help protect the heart, control weight and reduce the risk of chronic diseases.
