O Paris FC today failed to isolate itself provisionally in the leadership of the French Football League, losing with twist in the Lens visit (2-1), in play of the eighth day.
The Italian Luca Koleosho advanced visitors near the break (45+2 minutes), but in the second part Florian Thauvin marked his 300th match on Ligue 1 with a goal (63), the pass of the Belgian alternate Thorgan Hazard, which would be precisely assisted by the captain in the decisive attempt (83).
The Portuguese Mezian Soares did not leave the Lens substitute bank, which won for the third consecutive round and rose to the sixth place, with 13 points, against 14 of the five teams that are equal at the top.
The Paris FC, fourth ranked, is part of this quintet, but has returned to defeats and may lose ground to its opponents, who face each other.
Lille and Monaco will measure forces in the Principality on Sunday, the day before the reception of the French penta-champion and two European champion Paris Saint-Germain to Lyon, trained by Portuguese Paulo Fonseca and who began this journey in first place, due to the best difference in goals.
The classic of the eighth round of Ligue 1 was postponed for a day, at a time when the increase in the cost of living and the situation of the education sector have motivated demonstrations in several cities of France, which mobilized security forces and were marked by acts of violence, including damage to public buildings and looting of commercial establishments.
This re-alendarization makes the meeting between Paris Saint-Germain and Lyon coincide with the Golden Ball ceremony in London, where the Portuguese Nuno Mendes, João Neves and Vitinha, all from the Gauls capital club, compete for the prize of best player of the season 2025/26.
