Mais 158 million Brazilians are today called to the polls to choose the President for the next four years, in a fierce struggle between the current head of state, Lula da Silva, and Senator Flávio Bolsonaro.

They both are technically tied in the polls, picture of a country divided in half.

In the first round, on October 4, Flávio Bolsonaro obtained 47.03% of the valid votes, against 45.16% of Lula da Silva, an advantage of 2.224,965 votes.

Since the introduction of the system of two laps in Brazilian presidential in 1989, no candidate who finished the first vote in second place has managed to win the election.

Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, from the Workers' Party, left, and former trade unionist, seeks reelection at the age of 80 and his fourth term, while Senator Flávio Bolsonaro, son of former President Jair Bolsonaro, from the Liberal Party and supported by the right, tries to return power to the Bolosnarist camp, four years after the father's defeat against the former oporary who now tries to defeat.

Lula da Silva should vote for 8 local hours (12:00 in Lisbon) at João Firmino Correia de Araújo State School in São Bernardo do Campo, in the state of São Paulo. The President will then follow the counting of votes at the Renaissance Hotel in the São Paulo capital, next to Vice President Geraldo Alckmin.

Flávio Bolsonaro, 45 years old, will have to vote at the same time as his opponent, but at a municipal school in Tijuca, in the north of Rio de Janeiro, political cradle of the Bolsonaro family, then to Brasilia, where he will follow the election results.

It will be between these two personalities that more than 158.7 million voters are today called to choose in the 563.910 electronic urns spread across 5,571 cities in the country, as well as 186 cities abroad, such as Lisbon, Porto and Faro.
